Celebrating 20 years of Calon

Calon Associates Limited was founded 20 years ago this month. Originally established as a technical consultancy, Calon began life developing open protocol products for others and providing specialist controls consultancy withtroubleshooting services. Since then, Calon has evolved to become a lighting and forecourt controls specialist that is 100% focused on designing and supplying its own range of robust solutions to OEMs, system integrators, M & E contractors and specialist lighting companies.

Managing Director, Tim Sly , set up Calon after spending thirteen years working in software and controls for a multinational company. He noticed a space in the market for a company with strong technical and engineering skills to provide products and services that larger companies were struggling to provide during the midst of the open protocol revolution.

Technical Director, David Blyth , joined Calon in 2002 and the first range of Calon lighting controls were successfully launched the following year. Over time, the range has expanded with the fifth generation of technology recently being brought to market with the SmartSensor™ ,  SmartBridge™ PoE and SmartBridge™ Duo solutions. 


For the future, Calon plans to further expand the brand and its products into the market, building on relationships current customers and creating a deeper and broader customer base for its solutions.
